Education
We encourage both children and adults to spend time learning and growing in Christ. We offer Sunday School for children (ages 3 and up) and adult Bible Study each Sunday morning. And there are other educational opportunities during the week. The current schedule is listed below.
Youth Sunday School
"Second Sundays" at 10:30 a.m. (Ages 3 to Junior High School)
We offer Sunday School for ages pre-K through Jr. High on the second Sunday of each month. The Sunday School hour will include a lesson, snacks, an activity, and fellowship. This is a great opportunity for our younger members to grow in faith, knowledge, and community. So, come join us! Our "kick-off" will be Sunday, Spetember 13. The class is from 10:30 - 11:30 am.
Sunday Adult Class

The Lord’s Prayer from the Small Catechism with Explanation – Join us as we explore the privilege of Prayer. Just what is prayer? What are we to pray for? We’ll take up these questions and a host of others as we explore the Catechism together. Meets in the Parish Hall at 10:30 am.
Men's Bible Study
Wednesdays at 6:30 a.m. at Gebby's - 726 E War Memorial Drive, Peoria Heights
The Prophet Nahum: Often passed over as one of the "Minor Prophets," what Nahum was imspired to proclaim to God's people remains relevant to the life of the Church in a fallen and hostile world. The Northern Kingdom had fallen to Assyria. Judah suffered multiple attacks from the Assyrians as God chastened them for their faithlessness. Yet, they remained God's people, and through Nahum (whose name means "consolation") God promised that there would be deliverance, and that the wickedness of the Assyrians would finally be judged. Find out what all this has to do with us as we read through Nahum.
Lunch Together & Bible Study
Thursdays at Noon in Parish Hall
We’ve added a little extra to our Thursday lunches: a Bible study. We gather for lunch at Noon, eat and visit for a while, and then read a chapter of Scripture together and talk about it.
We’re working through the Gospel according to St. Luke. Trained as a physician, Luke is inspired to give an orderly account of Jesus' work so that all who hear can be "certain" of the things in which they have been catechized. He emphasizes the universality of God's grace in Christ, the completeness of the forgiveness that Jesus won for all, and Christ as the seeker of the lost and lowly. Come, join us!
Concordia Lutheran School
Mt. Calvary is proud to support Concordia Lutheran School, a kindergarten through eighth grade school located on Glen Avenue in Peoria. Since 1959, Concordia has been providing top-ranked academics in a Christ-centered, nurturing environment.

This personal approach to education gives the student an opportunity to get to know his or her teacher in a very comfortable situation. The teachers and staff of Concordia have high standards and expectations for our students, but we also love them and nurture their individual God-given gifts.
